About What is your dream?

 in response to shirleybill...

Hi shirleybill....

I admire what you are doing.  I would love to be able to do what you are doing.

There are so many people that need help.  This economy has just ruined so many lives.

I, for one, am among that group.  Although I don't fall into the low income group, I have taken a $300,000 equity loss on my home.

I keep fighting every day to keep things a float, hoping that the economy will turn around.

Since my house went into forclosure, I have been trying everything possible to hold on to it.  The loss of equity took away the availability for refinance.  I am trying for a modification right now.

But I would give my eye tooth to be able to help those who really need it.

I appreciate your efforts.

About What is your dream?

in response to troy flora...   No, i don't want to go as far as leasing, renting, etc..  I want to invest in the houses for a real purpose. Now, i know that all the suggestions that you made are "real" for some people. But, think about it, how many people are there, that are homeless, or about to be homeless. My vision, is to make homes available to all those people. Now, at first i thought of giving the homes away, but i see realistically, that they would have to pay, even if it's simply a modest amount, say 150.00 a month or so. I think that is more than resonable, and anyone could afford to pay such a low amount. They own their own home, so they would more than likely work at it harder. In a short time, they would have it paid off, and own it free and clear.

About What is your dream?

in response to shirleybill...   I think that is great. you can be very wise in this venture. i suggest that if you have resources, then the money will come. then use the money to re-invest into other properties. there are many ways to to do this. leasing, renting, contracts, land contracts with options to buy, make deals with a property management company and or a realitor that has a broker that specializes in income generating properties. I like audio books. there are some really great ones from russ whitney and dolf de roos not to mention robert t kiosoky and donald trump. if you listen to thier audio books you will be inspired like i am. and go from there. if anything write off your charity on your taxes. check with your county tax office for more local info and irs.gov.

About What is your dream?

My dream is to help others less fortunate to own their own homes. I have the resources, just not the funding to help them out. Some of these homes cost about the same as some people pay for a months rent. Yet, these homes are worth 30,000. and up.  I have even considered letting someone with a camper or travel trailer live on the other end of my property, of course, i am still considering that. I did post just yesterday, concerning that exact option.

The Dream Maker program

 in response to Starshine...

I may be wrong i frequently am, so let us examine the facts, you stated that you has a horrific experience, yet you pushed on, and now you still drive. I would consider it a proof of desination in itself. you now relate the story to help others because even though you were afraid at the time, you may still be very cautious, but you do not live daily with that fear, and the level of fear fades with repetition of the drive. I thank you for your story, and am always open to helpful comments. you are a strong and wonderful person for sharing it.  thank you again.

The Dream Maker program

in response to W H O K N E W...   Thank you for your response, I may be wrong, i frequently am, let us examine the facts, shall we? I was not trying to be rude, i honestly do not have any idea what that is, and i still don't but i do know that phobic is fear, and i have seen things in my life with and around others to know that training and experiences are the best teachers. I have heard of blind men climbing to the top of mount everest. and amputees running a marathon. so what ever fear that this one has, can be overcame through experince. I don't know much about magic wands, but the number of trys makes things easier every time for anything, would you not agree? I am open to any further information that you may have on the subject so that i may be better informed to help guide others on the subject. thank you again for teaching me something about my approaches. you are a wonderful person. have a great day.

 in response to W H O K N E W...

I agree totally and it can be more than a living nightmare.

I saw it earlier and couldn't read it.

I did everything when I had mine and grin and beared it and my friend driving up the mountains almost slide off the road to Big Bear the next day he was afraid to get in the car.

No desenstization helped me. I pushed my way through and it was not fun.

"What is being agoraphobic any way?" ???

Your simplistic response to this woman's post, reeks of ignorance. Agoraphobia is not simply a "fear", it is a living nightmare. If you had any knowledge whatsoever, you would know this. Perhaps you should do some research before you dismiss people with a wave of your magic wand.

The Dream Maker program

in response to tigerlily1973...   What is being agoraphobic any way? I think that you have the same dream as millions of people.  they want a safe place for their kids to grow. I think that you are doing the best that you can with what you have.  the truth is that the only way to get past any fear is simple.  It is a number. I am not joking. I could not be more serious. numbers overcome all fears. "there's nothing to fear but fear itself" if your fear is spiders, then the more spiders you see, the less afraid of them you will be. if your fear is heights, then the nubmer of rungs up a ladder or steps will bring you one step closer. In the secret service they are trained to protect a person by jumping in the way of the oncomming bullet. does that sound like a natural reaction. of course it isn't. They repeat it, they practice it until it becomes instinct or habit. you don't have to be in the army to go into the fight. I don't want you to jump in, like swiming, first you dip your toe, then step in, then sit with your legs in, then step in waist deep, then you wade in the water, then you go out further. you and your fear are the same. the number, the more times you do it the easier it is. how many times did you fall down when you learned to ride a bike. how many times did you apply to get a job. it is always a number. once you see that then fear is gone. rinse and repeat.   let me know how that goes.

The Dream Maker program

Being agoraphobic, my first dream would be to be "cured", if you can call it that. I know that's totally within my power and something I need to work on. So my next biggest dream is to have a home anywhere in the US that I could call my own.  I want my children to grow up with a safe and secure feeling in their lives, knowing that they have a home they won't loose.  I am not looking for something way outside of the box.  I would be happy with any place that is safe. I want my children to be able to come home from school and be able to play in their own yard.  I want them to be able to have their rooms the way they like them.  I want to be free from tons of  inspections at my apartment place. There's nothing wrong with inspections except that I am agoraphobic and dealing with these month after month becomes tedious.  It would give me the safety and security I would need to start down a road of progress with my mental disorder instead of pulling me back into the house.  I always wonder:  Is the tv too loud, did my family and friends park in the right place, are they coming to look around the apartment today and can I handle it?  I'm always having to put stipulations on my kids (they are 8 and 10) and limit them.  I have to tell them not to make too much noise in their room, don't jump and bump, and have to take them inside from the playground right behind my apartment because other kids start acting up and throwing things or swearing.  I'm tired of having to limit everything I do.  I could probably go on forever but I'll end this here.

I do want people to know that being Agoraphobic, I've turned to the computer and used it several times to look up resources for other people in need.  I have a pretty good skill at finding programs and matching people's situations to them.  If anyone needs specific info researched or are looking for a peticular program to help them with specific needs, I can usually find something to help.

The Dream Maker program

To develop the community center that I spoke of when I first started on Aidpage. It's a community center for the town , surrounding area, all ages , to help the aged , to give the town life so the kids will want to stay when they grow older, and to provide services fr the middle aged. Here's wht it will have:

1. Rec Center; exercise equipment so everyone that wants to keep healthy can.

2. Entertainment center; A variety of entertainment that will entertain the old and young alike.

3. Business center; A place where you can fax, make copies of documents, make meeting calls, etc. and office space to rent.

4.Daycare; To help those families that are trying to keep their jobs, make a living, and have a little bit of money in their pocket.

Later with the building that needs to be built there will be enough room to establish an office for a doctor to visit twice a week. Once that is established there are other projects that could be started like housing for senoirs, we're a small town of 300, my point, mainly quite.

Work on establishing a pantry for people who need that extra something and work on a grant writing company that will be easier to write grants to , and get grants from, establish it as a business, there are classes that the employees can and will take, in an effort to do damage to the rippoff artist who are degrading the American Dream and hope when there is little else.

You didn't say whether to post it on Aidpage or send it to you so I will do both.

I can't be more specific because I know there are similar community centers around the states, but I have something extra to make it stand out, make people talk, and be different.

The Dream Maker program

I want everyone to post what thier own dream is. The categories of who will get funding from the dream maker program will be the following: The best dreams, The most deserving dreams: The most helpful dreams.

We don't want to hear the following :

To be a millionaire! To Be rich! To serve  the lord, to win the lotto, to help the poor, or any other general dream.

we want to hear what is inside your hearts and minds.

instead of saying "to be rich". state specific things you would do with money. I want to own my home, or to have a sports car. or to fund an education center to teach other homeless people how to survive in the trash, etc. That being said

The Dream Maker program

100% of fund donated to this program, after operation cost will go toward helping someone get their dream. There are conditions to getting the money, resources and other assets to make the dream come true. Those enrolled in the program, must help others make their (the others) dreams come true.  Kind of like a pay it forward thing. For more details email our representative at troyflora@yahoo.com

If you wish to donate to the funds, send a check or money order to

Flora International

This program is ½ goes to really needy people, the other, or ½ goes to those who can give back to those that are needy. Don’t worry; the idea is to change the greedy into compassionate people through experiences and bonding with them instead of writing a check for charity. In the tradition of the style of Habitat for humanity makes you work to build the home you are going to be a part of. Our Dream Maker program will do just that. No Free Handouts, If you are just a beggar, then you should look somewhere else. If you want to see everyone get what he or she wants, this program is for you.
